Ruth Forehand Miller, 86, of Dawson, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2021 surrounded by her children.
Ruth was born on March 9, 1934 in Lilly to the late Asbury Forehand and Ruth Rucker Forehand. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Malcolm Miller.
Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Vienna High School and Wesleyan College in Macon with a BA in History of Art. She lived in Dawson for 59 years where she was an active member of the community. She served as President of the Dawson Service League, enjoyed her membership in the Dawson Historical Society and was a proud double lineage member of The Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a member of Dawson United Methodist Church and later, First Baptist Church of Dawson.
She was a true Southern lady whose interests included art, travel, reading, playing bridge and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her loving family including daughters Laurie Hutchins and husband Don of Charlotte, NC, Lynn Miller of Dawson and Jan Miller and her fiancé Brian Askew of Alpharetta, grandchildren Candace Price and husband Andrew of Charlotte, NC, Skip Hutchins and wife Susannah of Denver, CO, Ashton George of Redmond, WA and Cole George of Alpharetta, great grandchildren Henry Price, Mary-Miller Price and Georgia Hutchins.
