Julian Loyvoy Morris, 88, of Lee County, died on September 5, 2017 at the Willson Hospice House in Albany. The graveside service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Leesburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7th, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Harvey Funeral Home in Dawson.
Mr. Morris was a native of Turner County, born on July 20, 1929 son of the late Arthur Morris and the late Ethel Smith Morris. He was raised in Turner County and graduated from Rebecca High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Berlin, Germany during the Korean Conflict.
He was employed as a District Supervisor with the Georgia Federal State Inspection Service, and retired with 41 years of service.
He and his wife were residents of Terrell County for many years before moving to Lee County in 2012. He was a member of the Chickasawhatchee Baptist Church in Dawson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eulala Shuck; and nine half brothers and sisters, Estes Morris, Bessie M. Sellars, Henry Morris, John Morris, Bud Morris, Ann M. West, Anna M. Dunnagan, Will Morris and Christine M. Courtoy.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jane Gibbs Morris of Lee County; three sons, Kim Morris (Joan) of Warwick, Dale Morris (Jane) and Alan Morris (Ginger) all of Leesburg, four brothers, George Morris of Leesburg, Elton Morris of Warwick, Charles Morris of Tifton, Clifford Morris, Gainesville, FL, and a sister, Jane Durham of Cordele and half-sister, Ozell M. Banks of Jackson; seven grandchildren, Cameron Morris of Albany, Allie Morris of Warwick, Cory Morris of Columbus, Collin Morris of Statesboro, Ashley Morris of Tampa, FL, Clay Morris of Tallahassee, FL and Abby Posey (Jess) of Birmingham, AL.
