Lucius Goode McPherson, 85, finally decided to take a break on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Chickasawhatchee Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawson, Georgia.

Goode was born on June 10, 1926 on the family farm where he lived most of his life. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Remona McPherson Reid; his sister, Louise McPherson Taylor; and a brother, M. P. McPherson, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie McPherson ofRichland, GA; his son, Allen (Fran) of Smiths Station, AL; granddaughters, Kasey Reid of Monticello,GA and Ryann Reid Hancock (Nick) of Albany,GA; a very special great-grandson Braxton Hancock of Albany, GA; and a brother, Saville McPherson of Comanche, OK.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Richland United Methodist Church, 607 Hamilton Avenue,Richland, GA 31825 or to the Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus,GA 31909.
